SOME TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS:

  • Encourage precision and carefulness
  • Take pride in the final product
  • Using pencils rather than thick felt pens improves hand-eye coordination and fine-motor skills
  • For older children and adults, experiment with watercolours
  • Encourage experimentation with gradients (see image above)
  • For gradients, experiment with a sharp HB pencil
  • Listen to calming music while colouring
  • Eliminate as much background noise as possible

HOW COLOURING IN AND OTHER LIKE ACTIVITIES WILL INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY
If sedentary office workers took an activity break for only ten minutes mid-morning and mid-afternoon, their productivity would improve significantly, more than enough to make up for the work time lost.
