There is Hope for Those Drowning in Sorrow

We are treading water in an ocean of insecurity, seeking for emotional safety by clinging to floating debris. Any minute a storm may threaten to loosen our grasp and drown us in anxiety, stress and depression. It's no wonder many are going from one floating aid to another in order to feel secure.  But a tsunami is coming! Already we feel the tremors of violence, disease, broken relationships, political upheaval, racial and religious intolerance, and financial ruin.

This world is changing rapidly, fearfulness is becoming the norm, and multitudes are self-medicating (masking) their emotional pain through drugs, sport, movies, religion, television, fame, sex, violence, crime, politics, education, and business. If for a moment, we get off this merry-go-round and take time to honestly reflect on our past, we may discover many negative emotions that trigger feelings of insecurity. Many experience regret, hurt, abuse, isolation, disrespect, pressure, guilt, violence,  disappoint, worry, fear, or embarrassment. These can trigger a host of ongoing, negative emotions.

Is it possible then, to experience absolute security? Imagine being risk-free, having peace of mind, feeling safe and contented, knowing you are in harmony with yourself and at peace in all circumstances, not having a worry in the world. Does this sound like Utopia, Heaven on earth?

In spite of our seemingly hopeless situation, there is a way out. You may not believe it is possible to be free from anxiety and have hope for a better life. But in the sea of despair and fear, there is available to each one of us an emotional buoyancy that seems to transcend reason and logic. It rides out the tempests that in the past would threaten to overwhelm us.

No matter what race, religion or political persuasion you are, the solution is for you. For your own sake, persevere to read this book to the end. But don't just read it. Put aside irrational feelings and use logic and reason to evaluate the principles and concepts that are dealt with in each chapter. Consider them carefully and objectively. You will not fully appreciate the solution, and benefit from it, unless you read it with care and thoughtfulness. There is no standalone chapter.

The principles and concepts I write about have been around for a very long time. They are not original. But the illustration I use to present these critical ideas is mine and are the result of many years of experience, study, internal turmoil and frustration. I am now at peace with concepts that still cause confusion, even amongst academics and professionals. My illustration has finally given me peace of mind and contentment, and that is why I am driven to share it with you.

The answer to our dilemma is found in 'bubbles'. They give us buoyancy and are the perfect solution to an insoluble problem. They are the means by which everyone can find security and meaning in this chaotic world.
